Who Is Jim Hardy?

Past History
Born in Tifton, GA and graduated from Tifton High School. Went to NGC in Dahlonega, GA and received a research assistantship to attend Penn State. After graduation from Penn State, worked a while at the Wallops Island, VA NASA launch site, then spent three years in U.S. Army Signal Corp at Ft. Monmouth, NJ and had the rank of Captain when discharged. Had a very good tour of duty with lots of foreign travel. Visited the North Pole and the South Pole in the same year. Made two trips to the Far East including one trip to Vietman. Also was lucky enough to be in Europe for a month.
After tour in Army returned to Sylvester, GA and joined my parents' meat packing business. After the business was sold, took the Emergency Medical Technician course and worked a year with the Worth County EMS. Shortly later purchased a majority interest in Moultrie, GA radio station WMGA. After selling WMGA the present Hardy Data Systems was started.

The Present
Moved back to home town of Tifton 4 1/2 years ago. A year later married my wife, Linda. Spend my time now writing computer programs, typesetting, designing Web Pages, and of course, surfing the Net.

After graduation from Tifton High School I spent four years doing the college thing at North Georgia College, in beautiful Dahlonega, GA, with a B.S. Degree in Physics and a Commission in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. Spent a part of the summer of my Junior Year at ROTC Summer Camp at Fort Benning, GA. After graduation I got my Army Active Duty postponed until after Graduate School at Penn State.

The PSU Nittany Lion
After graduation from NGC I went straight to State College, PA and enrolled in Graduate School at Penn State. My research assistantship required me to work in the Engineering Lab half time and take a half-load of classes. After going straight through for eight quarters I received my M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. While at Penn State I became a PSU Nittany Lions football fan. I still follow the team and whenever they are on TV, I will be glued to the TV set.
