In keeping with the spirit of serving our Hispanic customers, the CRS for Ware County decided to make “I Need a Spanish Interpreter” Cards for the Spanish speaking population that the agency serves. The customer will be able to carry this card around with them so whenever they have the need for interpretation services, they can present this card notifying the agency that a Spanish interpreter is needed. The CRS provided the in-house bilingual employee with these cards and she has been distributing them to the Spanish speaking customers as they come into the office.

We feel that this card will prove to be invaluable in our effort to better serve this particular customer base. This card will not only help us to better cater our services to the needs of the client, but it will also assist them with a means to communicate their needs in other areas of their life as well. The providing of these cards is another step forward in our efforts to streamline and accommodate the particular needs of this clientele. This provision strikes at the heart of our overall objective, which is to become the most efficient and effective provider of services that we can. It also makes the customer’s experience with the agency friendlier and faster.

The CRS downloaded the “I Need a Spanish Interpreter” cards from the Language Access Sharepoint Web site @ http://dhr.georgia.gov/DHR-LEPSI/DHR-LEPSI_Interpreter_Cards/Spanish.pdf . The information was also saved electronically and it can be e-mailed to anyone that is interested, or if having difficulty accessing the Web site.
