G, 12th WI Vol Inf Rgt, USA, Enlisted 30 September 1861 Grand Rapids, WI; Mustered In Madison, WI; Reenlisted 03 January 1864 Natchez, MS; Mustered In Hebron, MS; Wounded in action 26 August 1864 Jonesboro, GA; Mustered Out 16 July 1865 Louisville, KY.

Allgood, John P. (wife's 3rd great-grandfather), Private, Co. H, 11th GA Vol Inf Rgt, ANV, CSA, Enlisted Summer of 1861. Discharged from Confederate Service before December 1863.

Algood, Job B. (wife's 2nd great-grandfather), Private, Co. G, 35th GA Vol Inf Rgt, ANV, CSA, Enlisted February 28, 1862. Died of measles at Winchester, Va. October 11,1862.

Algood, Coleman C. (wife's 3rd great-granduncle), Private, Co. G, 35th GA Vol Inf Rgt, ANV, CSA, Enlisted February 28, 1862. Captured at Spotsylvania, Va., May 12,1864. Died in prison.

Algood, William F. (wife's 3rd great-granduncle), Private, Co. G, 35th GA Vol Inf Rgt, ANV, CSA, Enlisted February 28, 1862. Wounded at Seven Pines, Va. May 31, 1862.; Died at Richmond, Va. June 3, 1862.

Allgood, Samuel Y. (wife's 3rd great-granduncle), Pvt/Corp., Co. K, 64th GA Vol Inf Rgt, ANV, CSA, Enlisted April 20, 1863 as Private. Appointed Corporal. Wounded through left hand, cutting off middle finger, at Hatcher's Run, VA, March 6, 1865. At home on wounded furlough at close of war.

Burson, George S. (wife's 2nd great-granduncle), 2nd Lieutenant, Co. H, 11th GA Vol Inf Rgt, ANV, CSA, 2d Lieutenant July 3, 1861. Detailed Acting Adjutant for 11th GA Inf Rgt. Killed at 2d Manassas, VA August 30, 1862.

Wiggins, James T. (wife's 2nd great-grandfather), Private, Co. G, 42nd GA Vol Inf Rgt, CSA, Enlisted Mar. 4, 1862, Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4,1863, and paroled there July 6,1863.; Wounded in arm at New Hope Church, GA May 25,1864. Surrendered at Greensboro, NC Apr 26, 1865.

C, 32nd Ark Vol Inf Rgt, CSA, on June 15, 1862 at Camp Cache - Capt. W. P. Anderson - Captured and paroled by Lt.Col. Stuart, 10th Illinois Cavalry at Van Buren, Ark January 25, 1863. Listed as AWOL. Returned. Present February 29, 1864.

Winston for 3 years or the duration of the war and received a $50 enlistment bonus. Muster May 3, 1862. Drew clothing May 22, 1864. POW captured at Ruff's Mill, Ga., July 5, 1864, by 16th U.S. Army Corps; turned over to the Provost Marshal, Marietta, Ga., July 7, 1864. Received at Military Prison, Louisville, Ky., July 4, 1864; forwarded to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Ill., entered July 18, 1864. Died of pneumonia at Camp Douglas Feb. 23, 1865. Buried in Grave No. 820, Block 3, Chicago, City Cemetery. Re-Interred in the "Confederate Mound" area of Oak Woods Cemetery in Chicago, IL.

Winston for 3 years or the duration of the war and received a $50 enlistment bonus. Muster May 3, 1862. Drew clothing Apr. 14, 1864. POW captured at Resaca, Ga., May 16, 1864; received at Military Prison, Louisville, Ky., May 21, 1864; forwarded to Military Prison, Alton, Ill., entered May 25, 1864. Transferred to Point Lookout, Md., Feb. 21, 1865. Received at Boulware's and Cox's Wharves, James River, Va., Mar. 6 or 9, 1865, among 2,554 paroled Confederate Prisoners of War including 31 officers. Admitted to Jackson Hospital, Richmond, Va., Mar. 7, 1865, with debilitas; furloughed for 30 days Mar. 7, 1865. Appears on a register of paroles given at post of Columbus, Miss., May 20, 1865.
